Frequently asked questions
Pricing, setup rules, safety and cleaning — everything a parent wants to know before booking.
Common questions
The basics every parent asks before booking.
What is your step-by-step cleaning process?+
After every rental we sweep out loose debris, wash the surfaces with a kid-safe disinfectant, rinse thoroughly, and let the unit dry completely before rolling it up. We also keep a one-day buffer after each rental so nothing is packed away damp or rushed to the next party. Every seam, zipper, net and anchor point is inspected before the unit leaves our garage.
How long does setup take?+
Most units are fully inflated, staked down and ready to bounce within 20 to 30 minutes of our arrival. Waterslides and larger combos may take up to 45 minutes. We arrive in your chosen delivery window and the unit is always up before your party starts — you don't lift a thing.
What ages are bounce houses best for?+
Our 13x13 castle bouncer is great for ages 2 to 12. Combo units and waterslides are best for ages 4 to 14. We separate little jumpers from big kids during the safety walk-through, and a responsible adult must supervise any time children are playing inside.
What is your weather and cancellation policy?+
Safety comes first. If the forecast calls for steady rain, thunderstorms, or winds over 20 mph, you can cancel or reschedule at no charge — just let us know before we load the trailer that morning. Once the unit is up and running at your location, if it rains or storms there is NO REFUND. For non-weather cancellations, everything is refunded if you cancel 7 or more days out; inside 7 days the 10% deposit is kept as the booking fee.
Pricing & booking
What it costs, what's included, and how to lock in your date.
How much does a bounce house rental cost?+
Our classic 13x13 castle bouncer is $100 for the day — most companies in the area charge $150 to $200 for the same unit. Combo bouncers with a pool and the Castle Fun Combo are $250, the 18 ft waterslide is $350, and the 19 ft waterslide is $375.
Is delivery and setup included in the price?+
Yes. Delivery, setup, anchoring, a safety walk-through and takedown are all included for locations within 20 miles of Putnam, CT. Farther out we'll quote a small travel fee up front — no surprises on party day.
How long do we get the inflatable?+
It's an all-day rental, and the unit stays overnight. We drop off between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM and come back the next morning between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM to pick it up — no extra charge for the extra hours.
Can I book online?+
Yes. Head to our Book Online page, pick your inflatable, and the calendar will grey out any days that unit is already spoken for. Choose your dates and your delivery window, then pay a 10% deposit by card to lock it in. Each inflatable has its own calendar, so two families can book different units on the same weekend.
How much is the deposit and when is the rest due?+
The deposit is just 10% of your rental total, paid securely by card when you book online. The balance can be paid online at checkout or any time before your party using the private link on your confirmation page, or handed to us on delivery day. We take cash, Venmo or credit card. Your booking page always shows the exact balance so there are no surprises.
Can I cancel, and do I get my deposit back?+
Yes. Cancel from your booking page any time. If your rental is still 7 or more days away, everything you've paid — deposit included — is refunded to your card automatically. Inside 7 days the deposit is kept as the booking fee, since the date is off our calendar by then. Rain-outs before we load the trailer are always handled at no charge. Once the unit is up and running at your location, if it rains or storms there is NO REFUND.
What does the deposit actually hold?+
It holds that specific inflatable for your exact dates — nobody else can book that unit while you have it reserved. The deposit is applied to your rental total and is refundable up to 7 days before your event.
How does multi-day pricing work?+
Online, multi-day rentals are the daily rate times the number of days — pick a start and end date and the total, deposit and balance update instantly. We also offer multi-day discounts, so call 401-500-8154 before you book a long rental and we will work out a better price.
How do I reserve a date and how do I pay?+
The fastest way is to book online with a 10% card deposit. You can also call or text 401-500-8154 or send the request form on our contact page, and we'll confirm availability and hold your date for you.
Do you rent on weekdays?+
Yes, and weekdays are discounted. Weekday pricing is not listed online — call or text 401-500-8154 and we will quote you.
How long does an unpaid hold last?+
When you start a booking online we hold that unit and those dates for 15 minutes. If the deposit is not paid in that window the dates go back on the calendar for everyone else.
What forms of payment do you take?+
Cash, Venmo or credit card. The 10% deposit is by card online; the balance can be paid at online checkout or on delivery day.
What if it rains or the party gets cancelled?+
Weather happens. If the forecast calls for heavy rain, thunderstorms or winds over 20 mph, you can cancel or reschedule at no charge — just let us know before we load the trailer that morning. Once the unit is up and running at your location, if it rains or storms there is NO REFUND.
Setup & space rules
What we need from your yard so setup goes smoothly.
How much space do I need?+
Allow about 4 feet of clear space around every side of the unit, plus room overhead. For the 13x13 castle that means roughly a 17 x 17 area. Waterslides need more length — we'll confirm the exact footprint when you book.
What surfaces can you set up on?+
Flat grass is best. We can also set up on dirt or asphalt using sandbags instead of stakes. We don't set up on gravel, rocky ground, or steep slopes, and we need a path at least 3 feet wide to roll the unit into the yard.
Do you need power or water?+
Yes to power — a standard household outlet within 100 feet of the setup spot keeps the blower running the whole rental. LEAVE THE BLOWER ON the entire time, except for lightning, thunder or winds around 20 mph. Wet units also need a garden hose. If your location has no power, let us know and we'll arrange a generator.
Can you set up at a park, school or church?+
Absolutely. Many venues require a certificate of insurance and a permit — we're a fully insured LLC and can send a COI naming the venue. Just give us a few days' notice so the paperwork is ready.
Can we move the inflatable after it's set up?+
Never move it yourself. It's staked and anchored for safety. If the spot isn't working, call us and we'll come reposition it.
Safety & supervision
The rules that keep every jumper in one piece.
Does an adult need to supervise?+
Yes — a responsible adult must watch the unit any time kids are inside. We walk you through the rules at delivery and leave a printed rule card on site.
What are the main safety rules?+
No shoes, glasses, jewelry, food, drinks, gum, silly string or sharp objects inside. No flips, wrestling or climbing the walls or netting, and similar-size kids should bounce together — little ones separate from big kids.
How many kids can bounce at once?+
It depends on the unit and the size of the jumpers — usually 6 to 8 kids on the 13x13 castle. We'll give you the specific limit for your rental at setup.
What happens in high wind?+
LEAVE THE BLOWER ON the entire rental. The only exceptions: lightning or thunder, or winds around 20 mph — then everyone comes out and the blower is unplugged until it passes. Safety first, always — we'd rather cut the bouncing short than risk a kid.
Who signs the rental waiver, and who is responsible for the unit?+
An adult 18 or older signs the rental waiver electronically before delivery day — we email it to you, and signing takes about a minute on your phone. Whoever signs the waiver is responsible for the inflatable: for following the safety rules, supervising jumpers, and for any damage or loss while the unit is at the setup location. We cannot set up without a signed waiver.
Are you insured?+
Yes. Level Up Family Inflatables is a licensed, fully insured LLC, and we can provide a certificate of insurance on request.
Safety & cleanliness
Kid-safe materials, our cleaning routine, and the safe setup practices we follow every time.
Are the inflatables made with kid-safe materials?+
Yes. Every unit is built from commercial-grade, lead-free vinyl designed for children's use. The mesh windows are reinforced, the seams are double- or triple-stitched, and all materials are chosen to be soft, flexible, and free of harmful chemicals.
What does your cleaning routine look like?+
After every rental we sweep out all loose debris, wash the surfaces with a kid-safe disinfectant, rinse thoroughly, and let the unit dry completely before it is rolled up. We keep a one-day buffer after each rental so nothing is packed away damp or rushed to the next party. Every seam, zipper, net, and anchor point is inspected before the unit leaves our garage.
Are your cleaning products safe around children and pets?+
Absolutely. We use non-toxic, kid- and pet-safe disinfectants and rinse thoroughly after cleaning. Our own three kids are the first ones back in the unit, so we never use harsh chemicals.
What safe setup practices do you follow?+
We set up only on flat, clear ground with at least 4 feet of open space around the unit and room overhead. Every inflatable is staked into grass or sandbagged on hard surfaces. We check the blower, electrical connection, anchor points, and entry netting before we leave, and we walk you through the safety rules so you know exactly how to keep the party safe.
How do you check for damage or wear before a rental?+
Mom does the final walk-through: seams, stitching, netting, zippers, blower, stakes, and anchor points are inspected before the unit leaves our garage and again after we set it up in your yard. Anything that looks worn or questionable is pulled from the trailer and repaired before it goes out again.
Cleaning & care
Kids tested, mother approved — and scrubbed after every party.
How do you clean the inflatables?+
Every unit is swept out, washed and wiped down with a family-safe disinfectant after every single rental, then fully dried before it's rolled up. Nothing gets packed away damp, so nothing shows up smelling like last weekend's party.
Who checks the equipment?+
Mom does the final walk-through: seams, stitching, netting, zippers, blower, stakes and anchor points get inspected before the unit leaves our garage and again before we leave your yard.
Are the cleaning products safe for kids?+
We use non-toxic, kid- and pet-safe disinfectants and rinse thoroughly. Our own three kids are the first ones back in the unit, so we don't cut corners.
What if the unit gets muddy or dirty during our party?+
Normal party mess is expected — that's what cleaning day is for. We just ask that you keep food, drinks and shoes out. Leave the blower running the whole time — the only reason to unplug it is lightning or high wind.
Delivery & setup day
What to expect when we arrive, how we keep things clean, and what happens if the weather turns.
What are your delivery windows?+
We drop off between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Because routes change daily, we can't promise an exact arrival time — your driver arrives any time within the window, and we text you a tighter estimate the evening before. Pickup is the next morning between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM at no extra charge. The unit is always up, staked and ready before your party starts.
Does someone need to be home at drop-off?+
Yes — someone 18 or older must be present when we arrive to sign for delivery. Whoever signs is responsible for the unit. If nobody is there and we have to come back, a $50 return-trip fee is charged.
What happens on setup day?+
We roll the unit into your yard, lay it out, inflate it, and stake or sandbag it down. Then we walk you through the safety rules, answer any questions, and leave a printed rule card. You don't lift a thing — we handle delivery, setup and takedown.
What are your cleanliness steps between rentals?+
Every unit is swept, washed with a kid-safe disinfectant, rinsed, and fully dried before it rolls back up. We also keep a one-day buffer around every rental — a Saturday unit is blocked off Sunday for sanitary reasons — so it is never packed away damp or rushed out to the next party. Nothing arrives with yesterday's fun still on it.
What is your weather policy?+
Safety first. If the forecast shows steady rain, thunderstorms, or winds over 20 mph, we cancel at no charge before we load the trailer. We make the call the morning of the rental, and you can reschedule or get a full refund — no arguments, no talking you into it. Once the unit is up and running at your location, if it rains or storms there is NO REFUND.
Booking & policies
Weather delays, cancellations, setup, supervision, and payment — everything you need to know before you book.
What happens if the weather turns bad?+
Safety comes first. If the forecast calls for steady rain, thunderstorms, or winds over 20 mph, we call you the morning of your rental. You can move to another open date at no charge, or take a full refund — even if it is inside the 7-day window. We never talk you into keeping a date that looks unsafe. Once the unit is up and running at your location, if it rains or storms there is NO REFUND.
How do cancellations and refunds work?+
Cancel any time from your booking page. If your rental is 7 or more days away, everything you have paid — including the 10% deposit — goes back to your card automatically. Inside 7 days the deposit is kept as the booking fee because the unit is off the calendar by then. Weather cancellations are always free.
Can I reschedule instead of cancelling?+
Yes, and we prefer it. As long as the same unit is open on your new date, we move your deposit over at no charge. You can reschedule for weather, sickness, or any reason — there is no fee for switching to an available date.
How long does setup take on delivery day?+
Most units are inflated, staked down, and ready to bounce within 20 to 30 minutes of our arrival. Larger combos and waterslides may take up to 45 minutes. We arrive inside your chosen delivery window and the unit is always up before your party starts — you do not lift a thing.
Do I have to sign anything?+
Yes. An adult 18 or older signs a short rental waiver electronically before delivery day — we email the link and it takes about a minute. Whoever signs the waiver is responsible for the inflatable while it is at your location: safety rules, supervision, and any damage or loss. No signed waiver means we cannot set up.
What do I need to have ready when you arrive?+
A flat grassy area with about 4 feet of clear space around the unit and room overhead. A standard outlet within 100 feet for the blower. For wet units, a garden hose that reaches the setup spot. A responsible adult must be home to walk through the safety rules with us and sign the rental agreement.
Does an adult need to supervise the kids?+
Yes. A responsible adult must watch the inflatable any time children are playing inside. We walk you through the safety rules at setup and leave a printed rule card on site. Similar-size kids should bounce together, and little ones should be kept separate from bigger jumpers.
What are the main safety rules?+
No shoes, glasses, jewelry, food, drinks, gum, silly string, or sharp objects inside. No flips, wrestling, or climbing the walls or netting. LEAVE THE BLOWER ON the entire rental — the only exception is lightning, thunder or winds around 20 mph, when everyone comes out and the blower gets unplugged until it passes.
When do you drop off and pick up?+
Weekend drop-off is between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM; pickup is the next morning between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM at no extra charge. We can't promise an exact arrival time — your driver arrives any time within the window and we text you a tighter estimate the evening before. The unit stays overnight so your party is not rushed.
How much is the deposit and when is the rest due?+
The deposit is 10% of your rental total, paid by card when you book online. It holds that exact unit for your exact dates for 15 minutes while you check out. The balance can be paid online before your party, or to us on delivery day with cash, Venmo, or credit card.
What if my first choice of dates is already booked?+
The booking calendar greys out unavailable days for each unit. If your dates conflict, the month grid can suggest the closest open dates across all units and let you switch with one tap. You can also call or text us — we sometimes know about holds that have not expired yet.
